Preparing For Surgery

Here are some guidelines so that your aesthetic procedure in the Wellness Kliniek goes as smoothly as possible.

Before surgery

  • Be well prepared. Stop using alcohol, aspirin products and anti-coagulation medication (in consultation with the doctor) two weeks before the surgery.
  • Start taking the vitamins prescribed by the doctor at your consultation.
  • Make sure that someone picks you up after surgery. You will not be allowed to drive yourself.
  • It is important that you spend the first 24 hours back at home night with a responsible adult.
  • Arrange for adequate time off work and social engagements.

The day of your procedure you arrive at the Wellness Kliniek having fasted.  You must not have eaten or drunk anything after midnight.

Bring all medication that you have taken or need to take, to the Wellness Kliniek.

Wear glasses instead of contact lenses or remove the latter for the operation.

You may wear your false teeth if necessary.

Wear comfortable clothing such as a tracksuit and no jewellery.

Remove any make-up from your face, eyes, lips and neck.

Remove any nail varnish from both hands.

A few days before your treatment a member of our team will contact you personally to run through all the details and to answer any further questions you may have.

All plastic surgeons and dentists are experts in their cosmetic field and are fully government registered in their medical specialty.

Wellness Kliniek Belgium stands for safe surgery. The hospital disposes of cabinets for aesthetic dental treatments, operating theatre rooms equipped with high-tech equipment for surgery, recovery care and private patient rooms.

Quality of care is assured. Wellness Kliniek Belgium carries the international standards organization quality certificate ISO 9001 / EN 15224 for all its medical and surgical activities.

Rates are among the best in Europe and are all-care-inclusive, but they do not include any VAT. Since January 1, 2016, the VAT exemption for aesthetic surgery and treatments has changed. As a result of this change, the VAT exemption will be applicable only for treatments that aim at the 'medical care' of patients (and are as such included in the Belgian INAMI nomenclature). In the absence of such a target, 21 % VAT will be applied. Aesthetic dentistry remains exempt from VAT.

Planning your medical trip has never been easier! For people who have to travel a considerable distance, the clinic offers a unique Next-Day-Surgery service: your consultation and operation on consecutive days.
