How much does lipoedema treatment cost?
There are various types of lipoedema treatment. An effective, invasive method offering long-lasting results is liposuction for lipoedema using the WAL technique (Water-Assisted Liposuction). This is a technique in which a gentle, pulsating jet of water loosens the fat cells from the tissue, which are then immediately suctioned away via a thin cannula. This technique is known for its safe approach, causing as little damage as possible to surrounding tissues, such as blood vessels and lymph vessels. This successful lipoedema treatment is also praised for its relieving results, with lipoedema patients experiencing fewer symptoms.
Lipoedema liposuction prices at Wellness Kliniek
The price of a lipoedema liposuction treatment depends on the specific area and the number of areas to be treated. You can find the transparent rates above in our clear price table. The lipoedema liposuction costs are always quoted per symmetrical area, which means that treatment of both sides (mirror-image areas) is included in the total price. Prices are also all-inclusive, covering anaesthesia, aftercare and VAT.
Liposuction for lipoedema: costs per body area
The cost of lipoedema treatment depends, among other things, on the time required to treat the area using WAL liposuction. Common areas that doctors at Wellness Kliniek regularly treat include the legs, arms and back. View the price for leg liposuction and the costs for other areas in our clear price table.
- Legs: Lipoedema in the legs is the most common and is usually found in the thighs, knees and lower legs, whilst the feet often remain slender.
- Arms: Lipoedema in the arms often occurs in the upper arms and causes symmetrical fat and fluid accumulation, resulting in a heavy or swollen sensation.
- Other areas: In some cases, lipoedema can also occur on the hips, buttocks, abdomen or back, often in combination with the legs or arms.

Next Day Surgery: Over the last 30+ years, Wellness Kliniek België has grown to become one of the largest plastic and aesthetic clinics in the world. For our international clientele and for those living far away, we offer a special Next Day Surgery Service, whereby the clinical consultation and the procedure take place within 48 hours. Before you decide on this service, we first schedule an online consultation with your doctor, so that you have sufficient time to make an informed decision about the treatment and the costs.
Advantages of Next Day Surgery: Your consultation and treatment are scheduled on consecutive days. This saves on travel time and, consequently, costs. This special, fast-track service is completely free of charge at Wellness Kliniek. Please note that a doctor must first assess in person whether you are a suitable candidate for the procedure. During a no-obligation e-consultation, you can optionally discuss your preferences remotely, and a doctor can make an initial assessment.
Only after the clinical consultation with a doctor can a final decision be made as to whether the treatment can go ahead. If you or the doctor decides to cancel or postpone the operation, your deposit will be refunded in full. Please note: any travel, accommodation or other additional costs will not be reimbursed by us.
Lipoedema reimbursement: is lipoedema treatment covered?
At Wellness Kliniek België, lipedema liposuction is not covered by the National Health Insurance Fund (RIZIV). In the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France and Germany, a (partial) reimbursement – upon presentation of the invoice – may be possible in some cases, depending on your insurer and policy terms. Check the guidelines of the healthcare system and your (supplementary) insurance and policy terms in your own country to determine whether you are eligible for a (partial) reimbursement for lipoedema surgery.
Is it possible to finance cosmetic surgery?
It is often possible to secure a loan for cosmetic surgery through an external personal loan. Spread the costs over monthly instalments. After your consultation, ask your bank or a lender for a quote. You can read more about payment options on our page about financing. Please note that borrowing money costs money (interest). Bear this in mind.
