They appear most frequently:
1. Between the eyebrows (from frowning).
2. On the forehead
3. Around the eyes (crow’s feet from laughing)
The wrinkles are the result of the muscles continuously being pulled together.
Botox injections temporarily paralyse these muscles.
This significantly reduces wrinkles and makes the skin smoother.

Frequently asked questions
- What is Botox?
Botox is a brand name, just like Dysport, BoCouture, Azzalure and Vistabel. The active substance in all these products is Botulinum toxin. Botox is a medication. It blocks the transmission of nerve impulses from the nerves to the muscles. As a result, it reduces the strength of the muscles. This relaxes the facial muscles and your wrinkles fade.
- How much does Botox treatment cost?
The price of Botox treatment depends on the number of zones that are treated. We charge a price per zone. One zone, for example, is frown lines, forehead wrinkles or crow's feet. The more zones you have treated in one session the cheaper it is in proportion.
- For which wrinkles is Botox suitable?
Frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crow's feet as well as wrinkles on the nose, chin and corners of the mouth are suitable for the treatment. Wrinkles in the skin appear in these areas due to the frequent contraction of the muscles, in short, our facial expressions. After the Botox treatment your skin no longer contracts so it is restored. As a result superficial wrinkles also fade eventually.
- How long does the treatment take?
A Botox session lasts between 5 and 15 minutes, depending on the number of zones you want treated. It lasts half an hour altogether, including the consultation before the treatment.
- Is the treatment painful?
Botox is injected into the muscles with an extremely fine needle. The small injections are not usually painful.
- When will I see the results?
Botox starts to work a few days following the injection. You gradually see a small improvement in the wrinkles. Two weeks later the effect is optimal, your wrinkles are much shallower. Over the next couple of weeks your skin becomes increasingly smooth.
- How long does the effect last?
On average between 3 and 9 months, after which the effect gradually wears off and you need a repeat treatment. The results last longer if you have had several treatments. Furrowed grooves or deep wrinkles will need to be treated more often in the initial phase, usually every 3 to 4 months.
- Is Botox safe?
Botox is an exceptionally safe medication that has been used in medicine since 1979. Botox only works on the muscle that has been treated and has no effect on the rest of the body. The effects of Botox are localised, limited to a small area around the injected site.
- Does Botox have side effects?
Skin rash, itchiness, headache, flue-like symptoms and a slightly drooping eyelid. However any side effects are extremely rare and are temporary. Directly after the injection, the skin may feel sensitive and tiny lumps and bruises may be visible. These are nothing to worry about. They all disappear very quickly.
