The THREAD lift (also called the APTOS lift, feather lift, or contour thread lift) is a safe, 'scarless', rejuvenating technique which gives long-lasting results.
The thread lift or feather lift treatment is similar to a facelift treatment, the Feather Lift treatment is actually less invasive than a facelift treatment.
This technique has been successfully performed at the Wellness Kliniek since 2005.

Thread lift - Aptos lift
Originates from A-PTOSE - anti sagging. It is a subcutaneous suspension technique which uses threads, making surgery with incisions unnecessary. The technique was developed in Russia in 1999; it has been improved since then and is a very popular procedure know as the Feather Lift.Feather lift: new threads!
At the Wellness Kliniek we use the latest operating techniques: slow-dissolving, antibiotic stitches are used to firmly attach the lifted tissue and muscle under the skin.
The surgeon makes a small incision in the skin of about 1 cm in 1, 2 or 3 places to anchor the threads subcutaneously. This is done with a fine, long needle which is inserted under the skin.
Extra support for subcutaneous tissue
The subcutaneous antibiotic loops support the tissue under the skin and suspend and provide extra support for the subcutaneous tissue.
Thread lift: The anaesthetic
The procedure lasts between 20 to 40 minutes and can be perfomed under a local anaesthetic though if you prefer you can opt for intravenous sedation.
It is a short procedure and there is hardly any bloodloss. Recovery is quick and you may usually resume your normal daily activities a few days later. The APTOS technique is part of some new developments and seems promising though at the same time the technique still has to prove itself in the long term.
Other names for the original APTOS technique are the Extended Suture Lift, the Sulamanidze lift, the Serdev lift, the Feather lift, the Isse-thread lift.
