Plastic surgery for the eyebrows: Eyebrow lift.
The endoscopic forehead and eyebrow lift has been performed at the Wellness Kliniek since 1997. This technique allows the eyebrows to be lifted and or the frown lines between the eyebrows to be surgically corrected without the need for a large incision. Any scars are hidden above the hairline. Slow-dissolving antibiotic stitches help prevent the eyebrows sagging in the future.

Eyebrow lift without any visible scars
Previously a piece of skin was removed from above the eyebrow which meant that the eyebrow was positioned higher on the face. Even though the scars were hidden in the wrinkles on the forehead it still looked slightly 'odd'. The scars remained visible and someone could tell immediately if you had had an eyebrow lift.
This technique has never been practiced at the Wellness Kliniek. We have been using the endoscopic technique since 1997.
The endoscopic eyebrow lift corrects the frown lines between the eyebrows AND the position of the eyebrows. The tiny incisions necessary for this pocedure are made above the hairline. After the procedure no one will be able to see the scars!
In 2005 we began to practice the THREAD lift. Plastic surgeons can also use this technique, which uses slow-dissolving antibiotic stitches, to lift eyebrows and treat sagging cheeks.
The endoscopic technique: a lift without any visible scars
Thanks to the invention of the endoscopic technique an eyebrow lift is now a safer and less invasive procedure and no longer leaves any distressing scars.
The forehead, area around the eyes and eyebrows can be corrected by the endoscopic method.
The surgeon inserts a small endoscope with instruments under the skin through a number of tiny incisions in the hairline. The muscles and fatty tissue are visible to the surgeon on a video monitor through the lens.
Using fine instruments the plastic surgeon can correct subcutaneous tissue on the forehead and the eyebrows.
An eyebrow lift can be performed on an outpatient basis and takes about 1 – 1 ½ hours.
With more effective pain relief a light form of anaesthesia is sufficient. Unlike traditional anaesthesia your breathing will not be controlled mechanically. You will carry on breathing and swallowing while you are asleep and you won't feel any pain. A couple of hours after the procedure you feel fit and well and do not experience any of the unpleasant side-effects of a general anaesthetic.

During your intake consultation the surgeon will discuss all aspects of the treatment with you: which method is best, the expected results, possible risks and necessary aftercare.
The plastic surgeon will also examine the cause of the problem and assess whether you are a suitable candidate for an eyebrow lift. Many people who have had an eyebrow lift or eyelid correction performed elsewhere come to the Wellness Kliniek for help because the initial procedure did not have the desired effect. With hindsight it is clear that an endoscopic eyebrow lift is the only solution to get rid of that miserable, angry look.
