Porcelain veneers & Composite veneers
Discoloured, crooked and uneven teeth can be corrected with porcelain veneers: veneers are also called facings.
There are two types of veneers for your teeth:
- Porcelain veneers (also known as lumineers)
The quality of the porcelain and the accuracy of the customized veneers determine the end result.
- Composite veneers.
The advantage of composite is a quick result.

What are veneers?
Beautiful, good quality veneers are hard to distinguish from the real thing and feel just like your own tooth or molar.
Veneers (or facings or lumineers) are thin (porcelain) shields that are bonded to the teeth. It is a delicate technique that demands considerable skill and expertise from the cosmetic dentist and dental technician to achieve a beautiful, natural-looking result.
A veneer is hard to distinguish from a real tooth and feels just like your own tooth or molar.

Porcelain veneers: E-Max porcelain facing
Custom-made work requires time and accuracy
During the initial consultation you will have a comprehensive discussion with the dentist. You explain your wishes and the dentist explains your options.
The procedure is extremely precise:
First the dentist will make an impression of your teeth to make a study model. Using this model as a base the dentist can discuss your situation and wishes with the dental technician. Then the technician can produce a simulation of the treatment on the study model: the so-called wax-up.
The dentist fits the simulation (wax-up) in the second session. The porcelain facings are only manufactured in a special dental technical laboratory when you are entirely satisfied with the result.
In a third session your porcelain facings are permanently bonded.
At the Wellness Kliniek we use E-max facings. E-max is a beautiful porcelain, which maintains its colour for life and bonds tightly to the teeth.
Porcelain or composite facings?
What is the difference and what are the advantages and disadvantages?
There are two types of facings: composite or porcelain.
What is the difference and what are the advantages and disadvantages? Please find a schematic explanation below:
*Discolouration occurs as a result of smoking or drinking black tea and red wine etc. It is usually easy to correct by polishing.
Composite facings / Composite veneers
We can also obtain stunning results using attractively priced composite veneers
A precise procedure also applies to composite veneers (facings). The advantage is that during the treatment in the chair, progress can be discussed and adapted if necessary. Colour, shape, and to a certain extent position, can be modified immediately during the procedure without the dental technician's intervention.
Before affixing a composite veneer (facing), the surface of the tooth is roughened. Then the composite is affixed to the tooth in a meticulous bonding procedure. The composite is then properly shaped and polished to produce a high gloss appearance.
You should count on a treatment session lasting approximately half an hour per tooth.
