Implants - crowns - a new set of teeth: Aesthetic dentistry has made significant advances in the last few years.
False teeth are now much more beautiful, and look as natural as real teeth. In the Wellness Kliniek we offer a complete range of aesthetic dentistry: implants - aesthetic implant surgery - are an important aspect.
A solid, stable solution that lasts a lifetime
Dental implants are suitable for anyone above 18 years of age.
An implant can be compared to an artificial root, which can be fitted in the root canal of the missing tooth.
Implnts are made from titanium and look like 'cylinders' or ' screws'. They are small, have a profile of between 3,3 and 4,8 mm and a length of between 6 and16 mm. They are about as big as a tooth's natural root.
Titanium is a strong, light weight metal which is well tolerated by the body. Rejection or allergies are extremely rare (and seldom occur) because of their high bio-compatibility.
During the initial consultation the dentist will assess your teeth and determine whether you are a suitable candidate for implant surgery:
- Your mouth is clean and you don't have any infection.
- You have sufficient, strong jawbone.
The advantages of using dental implants to replace teeth are:
- They provide a good foundation for crowns (artificial teeth) or a prosthesis (All-on-4).
- Further bone loss in the jaw is avoided.
- Titanium implants are very well tolerated: few risks.
- Are very strong.
- Healthy teeth close by are spared and not damaged.
- High degree of aesthetics, with a fine finished crown or prosthesis.
Missing a single tooth?
If so, we will fit a single crown on an implant
If both the tooth and the root are damaged, the best permanent solution is to replace them with a dental implant combined with a ceramic crown.
2 incisors are replaced with implants and a crown coloured by hand
- 1 implant with 1 porcelain crown second incisor on the left.
- 1 implant with 1 porcelain crown second incisor on the right.
Missing more than one tooth?
If so, we will create a permanent bridge fitted on implants
When three or more teeth are replaced, a permanent bridge, fitted on dental implants offers the only sound option. A traditional dental prosthesis does not provide the same stability or comfort.
Missing an entire set of teeth?
If so, we will fit permanent teeth on 4 - 6 implants per jaw
We can provide a partial or a complete dental arch of permanent teeth. No more loose, removable dentures! Your implantologist fits a line of permanent teeth on implants. This treatment can be done in a single day. The result is a solid row of fine teeth. The All-on-4 treatment increases your quality of life significantly, especially if you are used to regular dentures.
Finishings: beautiful crowns or bridges
Crowns and bridges: Aesthetic cosmetic dentistry focuses on the end result.
When you have dental implants it is important that the teeth with which they are fitted look beautiful and natural:
- Which fit perfectly with your other teeth, both in colour and shape.
- Which fit perfectly on your gums.
- Which are perfectly in line with your jaw.

Dental implants: frequently asked questions
- Can I have implants fitted in a single day?
Yes. The new two-phase treatment makes it possible to fit implants and teeth in a single day. The innovative new method signifies a major simplification of the treatment for the patient as well as for the dentist.
- Are dental implants expensive?
The cost is always relative. Dental implants will be slightly more expensive than permanent bridges and crowns, or a set of dentures, but they are cost effective because they last so much longer.
- Why are dental implants cheaper in some countries?
The price of implants may vary. Why? Implants are produced in different countries and the price differs from one manufacturer, and one country, to another. In general, expensive implants are produced in the USA, Germany and Switzerland. Countries such as Japan, China and Israel produce cheaper implants.
- What dental implants will I get?
Rest assured, the Wellness Kliniek always selects the very best materials. Our implantologists work closely with the world's leading manufacturers of dental implants, such as Nobel Biocare (Switzerland) and Bicon (USA)
- How long does it take to fit dental implants?
This depends on the number and position of the implants to be fitted. Most treatments last between 45 and 90 minutes.
- Is the procedure painful?
No. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, the same as when you have a filling.
- What can I expect once the anaesthetic has worn off?
You will feel some discomfort, as you would expect after any surgical procedure. Painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication, such as paracetamol and Ibuprofen help to ease any discomfort.
- Can I eat after the implants have been fitted?
Yes. The first few days you should eat soft, nutritious food. Your dentist will provide you with instructions about how to look after your teeth during the healing process.
- Will I be able to chew and bite properly afterwards?
Yes. After 6 months, your dental implants will have completely bonded to the bone and your chewing capacity will be similar to that of a natural set of teeth.
- How long do dental implants last?
Once a dental implant has bonded to the bone, and is functional, it can be left in place for many years. There are people who have had the same implants for over 40 years.
- Could my body reject the implant? And if so, what happens then?
Dental implant rejection, infection or inadequate bonding to the bone is extremely rare, but could happen. A capsule could form around the implant, or it could get infected. In both cases the implant is simply removed and the wound can heal. Afterwards, your dentist could select a different type of implant, which will hopefully bond to the bone.
- I don't have very much jawbone: am I eligible for implants?
If not much jawbone is available, often, it is still possible to work with dental implants. This is also the case if in the past you have been told that it was not possible. If there is a slight to serious loss of jawbone, short titanium implants can be used. These implants, barely 5-8 mm long, can be used in cases where implants of a more conventional length are not possible. The results provided by short implants are excellent.
- Do health insurance companies reimburse dental implants?
As with most elective and aesthetic procedures, dental implants are not covered by most health insurance companies.
We offer a 6-year guarantee on dental implants, as well as on additional treatment - in the Wellness Kliniek - as a result of rejection or other reason why the implant has to be removed. The guarantee means that you receive a new implant, free of charge, during this period.
Our team will support you during, as well as after, the procedure. We are available to you 24/7: 365 days a year.
