Sculptra® biostimulation promotes skin that is firmer, younger and more elastic.
Sculptra® stimulates natural collagen fibre production, through which your skin becomes fuller and firmer. It is therefore not the product, but indeed your own body that ensures filling and firmness.
Sculptra® is especiallysuited to repair volume loss. It is recommended for sunken and wrinkled cheeks, correction of lines around corners of the mouth, cheekbone and chin contouring, and correction of the neck line and hands.
Sculptra® is comprised of polylactic acid. Polylactic acid is a normal part of the skin.
Sculptra® is natural for the body and thereby eliminates chances of allergic reactions. Therefore, the patient does not need to be tested for hypersensitivity.
The physician injects the Sculptra® gel just under the skin by means of needles that are delicate and thin. The Sculptra treatment is more painful than a wrinkle injection. Experiencing pain varies by individual. Before treatment, the physician will pre-treat the skin with a narcotic cream.
Sculptra® has very few side effects. Some normal reactions to injections such as; light swelling, skin discoloration and sensitivity could occur around the location of the injection. This reaction is temporary, usually disappearing completely after 24 to 48 hours. If you are taking blood thinners or other medication, mention this to your physician.
The results from Sculptra® treatment are semi-permanent. This means the newly produced collagen remains present in the skin, but even so, the results become less visible over time.
For optimal results, we recommend the Sculptra® treatment to be repeated from 1 to 3 times during the first 3 to 6 months. Maximum results are reached after this building phase.
The results often last more than two years. Subject to annual ‘touch-ups’, you maintain permanent results.
Sculptra® needs to be prepared with either physiological or sterile water AT LEAST 2 hours before administration. For the best results, this preparation must be done very precisely. For that reason, we require a deposit to be paid before the treatment.
